Made Known is comprised of filmmakers, designers, and content strategists who love storytelling. We make commercials, mini-docs, founder profiles, explainer videos, and branded content. We love helping people tell their unique and personal stories, extending their reach through the power of video.
OUR STORY
Made Known Pictures was founded in 2007 by Scott Blanding and Brad LaBriola with the mission to produce hidden stories that should be made known to a wider audience. They have made commercials, mini-documentaries and promotional films for apparel companies, cooking apps, and non-profits supporting coffee farmers in Kenya. Made Known’s filmmaking has helped organizations tell their unique story and gain recognition with their key audiences.

You have a story. Whether the story of your organization or the personal story of someone you serve. It is unique, unlike any other story. With mentorship from academy award winners and nominees, we have developed dozens of concepts.
-
We have filmed on five continents in six languages and we welcome challenges of no electricity and tough terrain. Working in many different places, we are determined to capture the moments and scenes that make up your narrative.
-
Translation, editing, graphic motion, animation, graphic design, and special effects. We use whatever means necessary (and within your budget) to tell the best story. Call us for a meeting and we’ll give you our take on your story.

A life-long film lover, Scott gradually combined his concern for social justice with his passion for film and communication. Most notably was Women in War Zones, (Best Documentary, 2009 Philadelphia Film Festival and Cinefest) a documentary he shot and directed with Brad about two victims of sexual violence that undergo medical treatment at Panzi Hospital in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. After growing up in Roanoke, VA, Scott pursued filmmaking in Nicaragua, the Czech Republic and the USA, where he graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. In between filmmaking, Scott actively responded to the needs in his local community through teaching Algebra in Philadelphia city schools. He now lives in LA, where he serves as a reservist in the Marines and continues working with Women In War Zones International and Made Known Pictures.

Brad's love for storytelling started with books. He is a literary explorer. With the mentorship of Robert Pledge, CEO of Contact Press Images and featured in the Academy Award winning Born Into Brothels, Brad has produced films on four continents in five languages. "One of the most meaningful things I've done is helping others tell their story." From 2010 - 2012 Brad earned his MFA at the distinguished UCLA Producers Program. There he had the privilege of mentorship by producers such as Peter Guber (Rain Man), David Hoberman (The Fighter, The Muppets), Barbara Boyle (Phenomenon), Bobby Moresco (Crash, Million Dollar Baby) and Tom Nunan (Crash, The Illusionist). These mentors, some Oscar winners and nominees, have encouraged Brad to enlighten, engage, and inspire change for a better world through filmmaking. Brad's commitment is to produce deeply-felt stories that bring meaning to the confusion of our lives and renew a sense of wonder in humanity.
